Creating Your Memorable Wedding Ceremony

wedding couple

A memorable ceremony is a true and heartfelt reflection of your relationship, your vision, your beliefs and your community.

You create the meaning and the expression of this most important life passage. Your loving commitment will inspire all. The words and rituals will build a solid and loving foundation upon which your marriage will flower. The couple, as well as those present, will always remember the joy of this day and will continue to carry it forward into their lives.

The planning process is a respectful and joyful co-creation of your wishes and my knowledge, resources and experience.

Before we meet, you will receive a packet that includes a questionnaire which helps me to get to know you and your wishes. Many couples also find that answering these questions encourages them to start thinking about what is important in their ceremony.

We then meet in person, (although I have planned amazing weddings by phone for those living too far away). This initial meeting lasts an hour to an hour and a half, allowing us to get to know each other. Together we begin to sense into the nature and shape of the ceremony you wish to express. As I get a feel for what is meaningful for you, I will offer suggestions. I will also provide readings, poetry, blessings and vows which can help you better recognize the tone you would like to set. We then stay in touch over the phone and/or by e-mail as I write the ceremony and present it for your approval.

I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine.

On Your Wedding Day

On the day of your wedding, I will arrive one hour early. This gives me time to walk through the procession and ceremony, especially if there was no rehearsal. In addition, I can meet family, the ring bearer and other important participants. I will also coordinate with any event planner, musicians or other persons you may be utilizing. At the end of your ceremony, I will sign the marriage license and send it to the appropriate town or city hall.
